Unless you're looking for it, you won't notice Modrá zahrada when you're walking down Národní. A nondescript façade won't catch the eye of most tourists, but Modra zahrada is usually busy during the weekday lunch hour, full of city centre professionals grabbing a quick and affordable lunch.
Inside you'll find a no-nonsense pizzeria that serves a standard menu: a wide variety of pizzas, pastas, salads and beef. The pizzas are thin crust and tasty. The pasta is adequate, but not outstanding; the cream sauce tends to be heavy, but has good flavour. The beef is worth a miss -- overdone every time we've tried it. Salads are generous and well-made. Side orders are large and can be enough for two people. Given its location, prices are quite reasonable. Despite its shortcomings, compared to many of the overpriced restaurants nearby, the value-for-money at Modrá zahrada is good.
An interior courtyard has limited seating. Service is fast and friendly. Not interested in self-promotion, they don't have a working website. Reservations during lunchtime are recommended.
Recommended: Carpacio di salmone; Verdura alle griglia.
