One of the few Indian restaurants in the city centre, Indian Jewel offers the usual fare -- Tikka, Tandori and Curry -- as well as a few unique entrées, including Kheema, Pasanda and Gosht sauces. Dishes tend to be less spicy than other Indian places in town, and focus on more subtle spices like saffron and cinnamon. Meals are well-prepared, the Tandori meat is usually tender, the lamb is good quality. One downside: the vegetarian menu is limited.

The interior is simple, a balance of dark wooden furniture with white walls and tablecloths, and a few Indian touches. There is outdoor seating in the summer months. Service is prompt and friendly.

Recommended: Murgh Makhani; Sag Gosht; Tandoori Murgh.
