Selected as the best pizza in Prague by The Prague Post, Pepe Nero's interior is light, open and very casual. The tomato base is more sweet than spicy, and while the pizzas are not overloaded with ingredients, they are tasty. The antipasti include all of the Italian classics, and far outclass what you normally get in a Prague pizzeria. Prices are higher than the average pizzeria: between CZK 250 and CZK 270 for most pizzas; pasta is similarly priced. Two large televisions usually show the latest Italian football match. A large no-smoking section is ideal for families. Unfortunately, only Pilser Urquell and Kozel are served on tap. Pepe Nero is quite popular with the local Italian expatriate community, and you'll find that the restaurant can be quite empty and lacking in atmosphere at seven or eight in the evening (even on the weekends) but quite lively around nine or ten, or later.
Recommended: pizza Alla Piero; pizza Pepe Nero.
